The Philadelphia Gaelic Athletic Association (G.A.A.) is an exclusively voluntary organization which organizes sports programs for Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie (Ladies Hurling) as well as cultural, educational, and social events.
Since 1914 Gaelic games have been played within the Philadelphia area on rented facilities owned by others. This not only creates financial constraints, but with regulation fields at roughly twice the size of an American football field, severely limits the options and compromises competition.
In April 2004, the Philadelphia G.A.A. purchased eleven acres in Limerick Township, Montgomery County. The Planning Authority has approved our plan to develop 2 full size pitches, provide changing facilities, (shower, rest-rooms, ect.) and car park as well as a club house for social activities.
The Irish American Cultural Society of Philadelphia Inc. (I.A.C.S.P.) was established for the sole purpose of raising funds for our new project.
The organization is registered as a 501 (c) 3 corporation. Your donation will be tax deductible.
It is estimated that the total budget for the project will be $2.2 million and your donation will be greatly appreciated.
